"Hostal Machu Picchu-not the worst one"

by Johan Vince
(Los Angeles, CA)

We stayed here for two nights. Both day we spend most of the time in outside the hotel, in Machu Picchu, and in Aguas Calientes. So safety of our luggage was an important issue for us (I think same is truth for all other vising Machu Picchu. But in this hotel lock was not working properly, which kept us worried all the time.

Me and Rayna was happy with the room size, it was a spacious one and surprisingly not that much expensive (35$ -50$). But I don't think you would like the bathroom here, it was too smelly.

Moreover after taking a shower the water was not draining from the bathroom floor. It was clogged, impossible for another person to use it.

Breakfast

The breakfast was for free, but was not served in this hotel. But don't be panicked yet. It was served in the very next door Hostal Presidente.

Location
Location of this hotel is the best part of this hotel, it was really nice, along the train tracks and opposite to the police station. You will be happy to know that the bus station was half a block away from the hostal.

The staffs of the hostal Machu Picchu

The staffs were nice and friendly, I just expected front desk man to be more fluent in English. Good thing was that (!)there were no television, no internet, no telephones. Really! You will like to have a good night's sleep in here. The interior garden was pretty.
